Disaster Resilience Watch: Japan
Disaster Resilience Watch is a global collaboration between Tulane University Law School's Disaster Resilience Leadership Academy (DRLA), a program within the Payson Center for International Development, and local institutions in disaster impacted and/or disaster vulnerable communities, that provides systematic analysis of data and information in order to support strategic decision making and resource allocation in all phases of disaster preparation, response, and recovery.
Disaster Resilience Watch is a platform dedicated to the collection, monitoring, analysis, reporting and diffusion of strategic information that accents immediate needs with a long term and sustained focus on building resilience.
Disaster Resilience Watch leverage traditional sources of information and data (host country, non-governmental-organizations, United Nations reports/assessments/evaluations) as well as real-time data streams generated by new media platforms and social networks such as Twitter, YouTube and Ushahidi.
ESF-8 Reports: Japan
The Yale-Tulane ESF #8 (Public Health and Medical Services) Planning and Response Program is a multi-disciplinary, multi-center, graduate-level, certificate program designed to produce ESF #8 planners and responders with standardized skill sets that are consistent with evolving public policy, technologies, and best practices. The group that produced this summary and analysis of the day’s events in Japan related to medical, public health and public safety are graduate students from Yale and Tulane Universities.
