8th Review of Humanitarian Action 1: The document presents three complementary studies on performance, impact and innovation. The reader will find information about performance mechanisms, based on the ongoing work of the Humanitarian Performance Project; impact assessments including a look at four case studies from ALNAP member agencies; as well as an in-depth study on innovations undertaken in international humanitarian response.

PROTECT - Annex to the Australian Health Management Plan for Pandemic Influenza: In response to the H1N1 pandemic, the government of Australia amended their national plan for pandemic influenza to include an additional phase titled PROTECT. This phase represents a plan for action in addressing a pandemic that is mild to moderate in its impact, with special consideration given to vulnerable groups.
