Konbit for Haiti
Academy faculty member Dr. Charles Figley will participate in an event to help families prepare and care for Haitian family members evacuating to the area.
Time and Place: Thursday, Jan 28 at ELS Program Office at Livaudais Middle School, 925 Lamar Avenue Gretna, LA
The ELS program is preparing Haitian families here in the area to receive an expected influx of Haitian immigrants as a result of the earthquake. The program seeks to provide education about the effects of trauma, some coping skills they can use and how they help foster resilience in themselves and in their incoming family members from Haiti.
